Adipose tissue was isolated and prepared as described in Methods. The lipids were extracted in chloroform-methanol using Folch partition. Fatty acid methyl ester was prepared with methanolic-HCl, purified by TLC and analyzed by GC as described in our earlier publication [29]. Fatty acids showing significant alteration in composition are included and their peaks were identified using known standards. Values are expressed as mean ± SD for 3 separate sets of experiments. *p < 0.001 vs STD, **p < 0.001 vs DIO. |
