Resolution: standard / high Figure 9.
Effect of AICAR on metabolic alterations in AICAR treated STD and DIO treated mice. Blood was withdrawn from AICAR treated STD and DIO treated mice after 6 weeks of
treatment and serum was isolated and the levels of leptin and adiponectin were examined
by the respective ELISA kits as described in Material and Methods (a). Values are
mean ± S.D. of eight values. * p < 0.05; ** p < 0.01; NS: not significant as compared to STD mice group. $ p < 0.05, as compared to DIO vehicle treated group. NS: not significant as compared
to STD mice group. The lipid profile (TAG, cholesterol and FFA) was examined as described
in Material and Methods (b). Values are mean ± SD of 4 different sera. For TAG, **
p < 0.01; NS: not significant as compared to STD mice group. $ p < 0.001, as compared to DIO vehicle treated group. NS: not significant as compared
to STD mice group. For Cholesterol, *** p < 0.001; * p < 0.05; NS: not significant as compared to STD mice group. $ p < 0.001, as compared to DIO vehicle treated group. NS: not significant as compared
to STD mice group. For FFA, *** p < 0.001; NS: not significant as compared to STD mice group. $ p < 0.001, as compared to DIO vehicle treated group. NS: not significant as compared
to STD mice group.
